I started growing my perm out march 2009. I transitioned with many protective styles. I was eager to work with only one texture, and anxious for a new afro-punk style, so I did the big chop aug 15 2009. I shaped the cut in a box style and have worn it in a twist- out since. I often use Aphogee leave in conditoner (absolutely luv it) and Elastic QP mango butter cream (best on the market). Both products leave my hair soft and manageable.
Hi everyone,
Let me tell u a lil about myself. I started going natural in high school (10th grade 2000). This was when people didnt approve of the nappy hair. I didnt care for a while, until I went to NSU my sophmore year of college. It was a new scene and I wanted to make a good impression, so I called myself getting a Just 4 Me perm. It was ok, until I realized that when my mom did my perm she did not perm my whole head and I went to get a doobie and the ends of my hair puffed after I left the salon. I then decided that I will only be myself and I like nappy hair. IT FITS ME!!!!!
I have now been officially natural since 2003 (6 years). My hair is at its healthiest.
My hair is very curly. The ends of my hair look like a curly Qs. Can anyone tell me how to best keep the ends of my hair moisturized. I notice when I wash it, I see these Curly Qs in the sink. When I examine them, they are long. I would rather keep them then lose them. Don't get me wrong, there's not a lot of them, I would just like to not see them coming out when I wash them. How do you best moisturize the ends of your hair.
The video of a mom combing her child’s hair in such a hurtful way, that it has the daughter crying, screaming and running away trying to get out of the hair session, sparked flaming debates for obvious reasons. One blogger felt the daughter’s pain so deeply that she called Child Protected Services persistently to report this as child abuse. As a consequence all three children are now removed from their mother which sparked even greater debate.
