My Name is Karla Thomas. I live in Durham, North Carolina and I am a Business Analyst for a Fortune 500 Company.
I feel I have what it takes to become Miss NP09 because I embrace and love my Natural Hair. I have been natural for 6 years now. I can not even fathom going back to relaxer. My hair is the healthiest and strongest it has ever been since I was a little girl.
I also feel I have what it takes to become Miss NP09 because I take the time to educate not only African American women/men but other races on natural hair. I constantly suggest natural hair products you can purchase at local stores or how to create your own at home to my friends and family. I also suggest hair styles and daily/weekly maintenance and grooming tips to keep your hair healthy.
Natural hair is not a passing fad to me. My kinky, coily, natural hair is what God has bless me with. I feel it's my responsibility to find out as much as I can and share with others on how to maintain it and keep it healthy. Natural hair is nothing to be ashamed of having and Good Hair is definitely healthy hair.
